About West Nidaros
Our Mission
“Sharing Christ’s Love With All” and we offer many opportunities to do this through ministries and missions, youth activities and education, music, fellowship and more.
West Nidaros Lutheran Church is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). We believe what Christians have believed in and claimed for hundreds of years: the Trinity, the resurrection, salvation through Christ alone, and the Apostles’ Creed.

The Nidaros Congregation began on the banks of the Sioux River in a sod house belonging to pioneers from Trondheim, Norway on August 12, 1868. The congregation later became a four-point parish, but after three of those churches requested release in the 1950’s, West Nidaros was left as the sole survivor of the original Nidaros Congregation.
We have regular Sunday morning worship services and special Lenten, Holy week, and Christmas services during the year. During the school year, we have Sunday School classes for children starting at age 3 and continuing through high school age.
